The Escape Pod is a mini-shipping container -dimensions- originally designed to be a mobile office.
Purchased from Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers. The container comes with bare metal walls, basically an empty can with a doors and window. -interior- -exterior-
We designed and built a 600 watt solar -array- in a 3S2P configuration for the roof, that charges the 800 Ah 12 volt battery bank, the container is wired with 110 volt AC outlets inside and out, that also runs the -Starlink mini- for WIFI.
The interior can be reconfigured to an -ham radio shack- for emergency operations.
The interior is usually kept in -bed mode-, equiped with a microwave oven, toaster, hot plate, refrigerator, TV and a removable A/C unit.
First step was to -frame- the interior, followed by wiring and -spray foam-, over the spray foam we added a layer of -rock wool-, then lined the entire interior with a layer of Tyvek home wrap mosture barrier, we estimate about a R32 insulation value.
